Staying true to tradition, Nintendo has confirmed that it will not be announcing the RRP of its Wii U console at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo. CEO Satoru Iwata broke the news during the company’s 2011/2012 Fiscal Year Investors’ Meeting in Japan on Friday morning.
As with the Wii and 3DS before it, Nintendo will likely announce the price of its latest home console in the weeks following the E3 expo in June. Analysts predict a price point in the region of $249 – $299.
UPDATE: “Please also be advised that, as we did for previous platforms that were launched in the year-end sales season, we will announce the launch date and price in each market sometime after E3.” – Satoru Iwata
